In addition to being glamorous, the holiday spirit can also be controversial. Especially if we talk about contemporary art. In Veliko Tarnovo, a Santa Claus figure stirred the spirits of the local population.

The author of the head with the good old man’s hands is the sculptor Denislav Sirakov. “It’s a new trend in art. It’s called a joke-a joke, a devil. To do with a famous person or character,” he explained.

This type of contemporary art, however, remains misunderstood by the residents of Veliko Tarnovo. The idea was to be a Santa Claus guy who’s a miner and goes underground.

“The Tarnovo audience is still conservative and this should break it. Next time, when they see something different, they should think before writing on social networks. The small audience was scared, according to the mothers. They should ask them what is a joke ”, Sirakov stressed on Nova TV.

Santa’s emergence from the underground proves controversial for adults, but not for the children of Veliko Tarnovo, who fearlessly pass by him daily. The amount is not financed with tax money.
