In the area of artistic and cultural education, the Colomiers Conservatory works with school audiences. For the fifth time in the community and for the third time in the Jules-Ferry elementary school, the device with arranged music schedules (Dham) is being renewed for three years. The aim is to promote academic success and the development of artistic sensitivity in students. In addition to general training, it provides students with specific training in the field of music oriented towards choral singing. “With twelve years of experience, it is an operation that has proven itself both in terms of artistic and educational success,” notes Caroline Vauchère, deputy mayor in charge of culture who presented the device during the last city council. “Puts children in a successful situation.” This new three-year system (September 2022 to July 2025) is aimed at pupils of the Jules-Ferry primary school, enrolled in CE2 this year, in CM1 next year and in CM2 for the 2024-2025 school year. The same children will then practice music for 3 years. A conservatory teacher works at the school for 10 hours a week (ie half time), accompanying the children in small groups, per class or all together. On average, therefore, children practice music for more than 2 hours a week.
