Indonesia placed two representatives in the final BWF World Tour 2022 Finals. Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting will compete in the most important party.
Ahsan/Hendra are Indonesia’s hopefuls in men’s doubles. The Daddies entered the final round after eliminating Malaysian representatives, Ong Yew Sin / Teo Ee Yi, with a score of 17-21, 21-13, 21-19 on Saturday (12/10/2022).
Ahsan/Hendra will then face Liu Yu Chen/Ou Xuan Yi. Liu/Ou hindered the creation of the all-Indonesian finals after stopping Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto in the semis.
Head-to-head Ahsan/Hendra lost 0-2 to Liu/Ou. The duo last met in the group stage of the 2022 BWF World Tour Finals and Ahsan/Hendra lost 13-21, 18-21.
From male singles, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting will face a tough test in the final round. Anthony Ginting will fight against the number one badminton player in the world, Viktor Axelsen.
Anthony Ginting lost 4-10 in his record bout against Axelsen, with the Dane’s last eight fights won. Finally, Anthony Ginting had to admit Axelsen’s lead at the 2022 Badminton World Championships with a crushing score of 10-21, 10-21.
The BWF World Tour 2022 Finals will be held at Nimibutr Arena, Bangkok, Thailand on Sunday (12/11/2022). The match series will begin at 1pm WIB.
