A German skier and his Austrian partner were hit by a snowcat and seriously injured at the Ski Arlberg ski resort in Austria. The caterpillar was used for slope work at the Schlegelkopf mountain station.

The two met on Friday evening from the Rud-Alpe inn at an altitude of 1,500 meters, police reported on Saturday. His plan was to ski down a groomed slope. They wanted to drive behind the snow groomer when the driver put it into reverse without realizing it. The 46-year-old woman and 56-year-old man were run over, it was said.

According to a police spokesman, the man is from southern Baden-Württemberg. The woman was taken to Feldkirch hospital and the man to Innsbruck hospital.
