The first week of December 2022 saw the launch of up to ten smartphones from brands such as Realme, iQOO, Samsung, Tecno and OPPO. The week started with Tecno unveiling its Phantom X2 series and ended with Samsung retiring its Galaxy M04. The Realme 10 Pro, iQOO 11 and Tecno Pova 4 series also arrived mid-week. Here is a quick overview of all the major smartphones launched this week, globally and in India.
Realme 10 Pro series
Realme 10 Pro was launched in India with a starting price of Rs 18,999 and will go on sale from December 16th. Realme 10 Pro+ starts at Rs 24,999 and will be available on 14th December via Flipkart, realme.com and offline stores.
Realm 10 Pro: The phone has a 6.72-inch FHD+ 120Hz LCD display that draws power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. A 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging keeps the lights on. It has a 16MP front camera and dual rear cameras: 108MP primary and 2MP.
realme 10+: It features a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz Super AMOLED curved display that gets its fuel from a 5,000mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging. The MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC powers the show paired with up to of 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Along with the 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, the Realme 10 Pro+ has a similar camera setup as the 10 Pro.
iQOO 11 series, iQOO Neo 7 SE
The iQOO 11 and iQOO Neo 7 SE series were announced in China this week and are expected to arrive in India in early 2023. The phones start at around Rs 24,800.
QOO 11: The device has a triple rear camera setup: 50MP primary, 13MP ultrawide, and 8MP. You get a 16MP camera on the front for selfies and video calling. It features a 6.78-inch FHD+ 144Hz AMOLED panel, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support, and up to 16GB of RAM with 512GB of storage.
iQOO 11 Pro: The iQOO 11 Pro comes with a similar spec sheet aside from a few tweaks here and there. You get a QHD+ display, support for 200W fast charging, and an improved triple rear camera setup: 50MP primary, 50MP ultrawide, and 13MP ultrawide.
iQOO Neo 7 SE: Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC, the iQOO Neo 7 SE features a 6.78-inch Full-HD+ 120Hz AMOLED panel. A 5,000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging powers the show. The camera setup includes a 16MP selfie camera and a triple rear camera setup: 64MP primary, 2MP vertical, and 2MP macro.
TecnoPhantom X2 series
Tecno Phantom X2 and Phantom X2 Pro were announced in Dubai this week. The company has confirmed that the first model will launch in India later this month, with the Phantom X2 Pro arriving early next year.
Tecno Phantom X2 phones offer a 6.8-inch FHD+ 120Hz curved AMOLED panel. The hardware is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 5G SoC paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Both phones pack a 5,160mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging.
Photography on the Tecno Phantom X2 is taken care of by a triple camera setup: 64MP, 13MP and 2MP. On the other hand, the X2 Pro has a triple camera setup of 50MP, 50MP and 13MP. Both phones have a 32MP front camera.
Samsung Galaxy M04
Samsung Galaxy M04 has landed in India with a reasonable price tag of Rs 8,499. On the front is a 6.58-inch HD+ display that supports a 90Hz refresh rate. A 5,000mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging keeps the lights on, and a MediaTek Helio P35 processor pairs that with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It has dual rear cameras: 13MP primary and 2MP secondary. There is a 5MP camera on the front for your video calling and selfie needs.
Tecno Pova 4, OPPO Reno 8 Pro House of the Dragon
This week also saw the debut of Tecno Pova 4 and OPPO Reno 8 Pro House of the Dragon Limited Edition. The latter packs the same configuration as the standard OPPO Reno 8 Pro but comes with a House of the Dragon themed cover, accessories and wallpaper.
Tecno Pova 4 is a 6.82 inch phone with an HD+ IPS LCD panel that supports 90Hz HRR. There is a 50MP dual rear camera and an 8MP selfie camera for photography. It has a MediaTek Helio G99, 8GB of RAM with 128GB of storage, and a 6,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.
