The other day, the former creative director of the zombie action Days Gone John Garvin, who resigned immediately after the sensational failure of the game, outlined the main reason for this failure.
Garvin blames critics for being biased. In particular, he noted that the game may not like fighters for social justice, who accused the protagonist of skin color, and also attributed character traits that were not inherent in him. Because Metacritic scores are everything to Sony, Garvin’s career quickly ended. Moreover, Days Gone went to ordinary gamers and they awarded it the same “Metacritic” with a score of about 8.3, which is a very worthy indicator.
However, Sony Bend Studio, head of development of Days Gone, does not share Garvin’s position and hastened to distance itself from his statements. In its official statement, the studio said it was proud of its project and grateful to all the developers “who put their heart and soul into the project”.
