LARGE TEAMS: Many resources were at work Thursday evening to bring the fire under control.

Danger of spreading

It was around 10pm on Thursday evening when police reported that firefighters had gone to Lunteveien in Gamle Fredrikstad.

– We have received a report of a fire in an apartment building with a potentially high risk of spreading. This meant we called the crews we have in Fredrikstad, as well as getting assistance from Sarpsborg and Halden, duty manager Vegard Andersen told East 110 central to VG at 10:30pm.

– As of now, there is a risk that it will spread to other apartments and roofs.

At 10.43pm, East Police tweeted that the firefighters were in control.

It is the municipality of Fredrikstad and the crisis management there that is responsible for providing the necessary help to those affected.
