SAS, Flight Routes | SAS opens nine new routes from Norwegian airports: – We are looking forward to a busy summer

After a rather troubled summer in 2022 with strikes and heavy financial losses, there are now much brighter times for the Scandinavian airline. In a Thursday afternoon press release, they say 20 new flight routes will open in the summer of 2023, and nine of those routes come from Norwegian airports.

– We are very pleased to announce our schedule for next summer and are delighted to see a growing interest in travel. Next summer will include many new destinations, but also increased capacity in existing destinations. SAS will continue to add new destinations in the coming months, in addition to our already extensive network. We are looking forward to a busy summer, says SAS Vice President Erik Westman in a press release.

Most of the new routes will start from Oslo Airport. In the summer of 2023, it will be possible to travel to Antalya, Florence, Catania, Venice, Larnaca and Stuttgart. From Bergen airport, Flesland, there will be opportunities for sun and a good atmosphere with departures for Milan and Nice. And the latest departure may not be so “exotic”, but a new route is opening up from Trondheim airport, Værnes, to Haugesund.

Otherwise, these are the new SAS routes for summer 2023:

* From Stockholm to: Antalya, Ibiza, Montpellier and Vasa.
* From Copenhagen to: Antalya, Haugesund, Newquay/Cornwall, Larnaca, Porto, Zadar and JFK/New York.

This means that SAS will open a total of 20 new routes from summer next year, which in turn means that 5,000 weekly routes will be flown to over 100 destinations, according to the company’s press release.
