According to a spokesperson, the theater does not take illness-related performance cancellations lightly. “We always try to let the performances take place if possible. Sometimes we have to be creative,” says the spokesperson. It is a pity for the spectators and artists if there are cancellations. In the current cases, however, this was not possible otherwise. “We currently have a high level of sick leave, which we’re trying to compensate as best we can,” admits the spokesperson. More than 500 people work at the community theatre. Sick leave is difficult to quantify, because it doesn’t just affect the actors on stage.
