New York Yankees Archives – The Southeast

EUROPEAN UNION.- Aaron Judge will remain for life (if he doesn’t terminate his contract) with the New York Yankees, who will sign a historic contract in MLB.

According to AP, the ‘Judge’ will sign in exchange for 360 million dollars and 9 seasons; he will therefore remain in the ‘Big Apple’ until he is 39 years old.

The outfielder had received a seven-year (2023 to 2029) offer of $213.5 million from the “Bronx Bombers” prior to the start of the campaign; however, he turned it down.

With that, came the gamble for Aaron Judge, who had an outstanding season this year leading the major leagues in home runs (62), runs scored (133) and drives (131), as well as finishing with 177 hits in 570 at bats and a .311 average.

Those performances earned him the American League Most Valuable Player Award, as well as the Rookie of the Year Award he received in 2017. In seven seasons with the Yankees, the ‘Judge’ was named to four All-Star Games and received three silver bats.

The best contracts in MLB history

With his $360 million contract, Aaron Judge signed the third most lucrative contract in MLB history, second only to Mike Trout and the Mookie Bets.

Sure, the 30-year-old outfielder has a better average than them ($40 million), which is the best annual income for a player who isn’t a pitcher, though only Max Scherzer ($43.3 million) and Justin Verlander do are ahead of him ($43.3 million USD).
