Celine Dion reveals she has a very rare and very serious neurological disease that has no cure

The famous Canadian singer Celine Dion has been diagnosed with a serious neurological disease that causes uncontrolled tension of her muscles, and it is an illness that currently has little hope of recovery.

The disease, called stiff person syndrome, causes patients to turn into “human statues” and gradually lock the body into stiff positions, making people unable to walk or talk.

While there is no cure for this rare neurological syndrome, there are treatments to slow its progression, and Dion revealed that she does everything she can to reduce symptoms.

The 54-year-old singer addressed her fans in a sad Instagram post on Thursday, where she revealed that illness forced her to cancel her European tour.

She said, “I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to reach you. I miss you so much and can’t wait to be on stage and talk to you in person.”

He continued: ‘I have been dealing with health issues for a long time and it has been hard for me to face the challenges and talk about everything I had been through. I was recently diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder called Stiff Person Syndrome which affects 1 in a million people.”

Celine Dion explained the impact of the condition on her, saying: “Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life and sometimes cause difficulty when walking and don’t allow me to use my vocal cords to sing like I used to.”

Dion first hinted at her health issues in January 2022 when she canceled North American tours. The new announcement comes three months after she had to cancel a concert in Las Vegas due to the same health issue.
