NEW JERSEY – Police are looking for a driver who left a pedestrian seriously injured after a sudden hit-and-run in Jersey City on Tuesday, according to Hudson County’s Regional Collision Investigation Unit.
The Jersey City Police Department learned of the incident at around 4:35 p.m. The collision occurred at the intersection of Griffith Street and Sherman Avenue.
After running over the pedestrian, the wanted vehicle fled. The 36-year-old victim, whose identity has not been released, was transported to Jersey City Medical Center in critical condition, according to the Hudson County Attorney’s Office.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver, who was traveling in a blue-and-white Toyota C-HR, traveled from Sherman Avenue to South Street after the hit-and-run. The vehicle was last seen on Palisade Avenue near South Street.
