Our Saale Bulls won against their league rivals Krefelder EV 6:4 (2:2, 2:1, 2:1) on Tuesday evening. In keeping with St. Nicholas Day, the Bulls wore special jerseys and officially opened the Christmas season in the bullfighting arena.
After winning the faceoff, Halle started the match offensively and employed visiting goalkeeper Jonas Gähr in the third attack. Our team recorded 14 of five shots in the first third. Both the inferiority of Krefeld: Adrian Grygiel equalized the visitors in the ninth minute. From then on, both teams met at eye level. Lukas Valasek responded successfully for our Bulls and scored the goal to make it 2-1: Visiting coach Elmar Schmitz’s team immediately used a face-off to equalize directly. The Krefeld team scored a goal with a man down. Aaron McLeod shot the sixth goal of the game into our goalkeeper Albrecht’s triangle. The Bulls then ran after a 2:3 deficit. Additionally, our team received a bench penalty for one player stepping on the ice too many times.
As penalty minutes expired, our team claimed the best shorthand odds in the Premier League. Mathieu Tousignant scored with a shorthander and cleared the game. Less than a minute later, Tousignant scored the opening goal to make it 4-3 in a 5 against 5.
Our team remained too passive in the last third, to the advantage of the guests from North Rhine-Westphalia. Grygiel secured a hat-trick in a 4:4 draw. Our top scorer Matias Varttinen, on the other hand, continued to work on his stats. Five minutes before the end of the game, Varttinen added the missing accent and gave the Bulls a 5:4 lead. In the last minute of the game, the Finn cleared the front and gave us a goal into an empty net. The guests didn’t make the three-point shot easy for our boys. In the end, however, it is the fourth consecutive victory that counts. Now it’s time to recharge your batteries. The Saale Bulls will attack the Herner EV Miners again on Friday.
