THE DRAMA: Firefighters responded to smoke from an industrial building on Ryddinggangen/Tordenskioldsgate in Drammen on Tuesday.
– The message received is that there is a fire in the roof of the building, said the shift manager at the 110 exchange, Joachim Rakvåg in Drammens Tidende.
Drammens Tidende reporter at the scene reported that there was a lot of smoke in the area. Police said smoke was blowing in Rundtom’s direction and residents in the immediate area had been advised to close their windows.

At around 9.48pm, police tweeted that two people were expected to be working the scene when the fire broke out.
– No one should have to live in this particular building. There are no reports of wounded or missing. The fire is not yet under control, police said.
At 10.15pm, Drammens Tidende reporter at the scene stated that there was less smoke billowing from the building, but that firefighters saw through the roof at the scene.
At around 11.10pm, Police Chief Operating Officer Roger Aaser informs Drammens Tidende that the fire is largely out, but that firefighters are still working on the roof and will continue to do so for some time to come.
– This was the message we received half an hour ago, says Aaser.
Police cannot yet say anything about the cause of the fire.
