Windster fled the Pompekliniek in Nijmegen together with 24-year-old Luciano D. last June. After nine days of manhunt, D. was arrested in The Hague, but Windster is still on the run. In 2019 he received more than five years in prison and TBS for extortion and armed robbery in which one of the victims was killed.
It is unclear whether Windster is still in the Netherlands. On Tuesday, Europol placed the escaped TBS prisoner on the list of most wanted criminals in Europe. He is classified as “dangerous” and is according to the international search list “armed and violent”. Europol also points out that he has two gold teeth and a tattoo on his chest.
“There appear to be indications that he has been, or is still, in Belgium. Do you have any idea where Sherwin Windster may be or has been recently, please pass it on to the police,” Opsporing Requested reports Tuesday evening. The prosecutor assures whistleblowers that their names will not end up on the file if they provide Windster’s precise location. “You can, however, claim the reward tax-free.”
Last week, a 31-year-old forensic prisoner who was in the Pompe clinic escaped. He was arrested the same day and is suspected of stabbing a 27-year-old woman in Soest. The woman was seriously injured. The forensic prisoner escaped from his supervisor while on leave outside the clinic.
