PKS spokesman Muhammad Iqbal evaluates DPR deputy chairman Sufmi Dasco Ahmad undemocratic when he argued with PKS faction DPR member Iskan Qolda Lubis at plenary meeting to ratify RKUHP into law. Dasco has denied allegations that he is undemocratic.
“The first thing I said was that this was not undemocratic, I was already democratic. At the beginning of the session I said that the decisions at the first level of all parties were in agreement, but there was a note. So, the party that has the record, I have given the opportunity to read the notes, the decision level one notes,” Dasco said when contacted on Tuesday (6/12/2022).
Dasco said Iskan suddenly changed the PKS postscript regarding RKUHP which was set at level one. Since the notes presented by Iskan were inappropriate, Dasco therefore reprimanded the interested party.
“So I invited PKS, now the spokesman Mr. Iskan read the PKS notes, then suddenly changed them not according to the notes decided in the first-level decision. Therefore, I scolded him,” Dasco said.
Furthermore, Dasco emphasized that this did not limit PKS’ right to read the notes. Dasco said he gave PKS an opportunity.
“I’m not limiting his rights, but this is to give him the opportunity to read his notes, the PKS records that were decided at the first level. So I reprimanded him earlier in court that it was not appropriate in the notes at the level one, that’s all, undemocratic, if undemocratic, of course we don’t give it,” he said.
Dasco also mentioned the opportunity given to the Democratic faction to submit notes. He said the record filed by the Democrats went smoothly.
“Next I gave the Democrats a chance, the Democrats then filed their notes in accordance with the notes at level one, so nothing happened before that,” he said.
Because of this, Dasco he asked Muhammad Iqbal to understand what happened in the plenary hall. Only then do they respond to the incident.
“Before issuing a statement, the PKS spokesman should first study what happened earlier in the chamber. I will give the PKS the opportunity to pass on the PKS notes on first-level decisions to be presented to the plenary session as well as to the Democrats,” he said.
“If it’s not democratic, why should I give you the opportunity to read the notes, it’s just that the notes you read deviate from what was recorded, so I’ll remind you of that,” he added.
