According to the doctor Alejandro Pineda, president of the Nexum Medica association, the first vaccine would no longer be so effective against the new mutations, given that in the United States there are updates such as the “Bivalent Vaccine Boosters”, i.e. booster doses of the bivalent vaccines, which in Mexico have not been applied.

Of note, bivalent vaccines, as the Covid 19 immunization updates have been called, include a component of the original viral strain and a component of the omicron variants, as explained on the official US FDA website.
He pointed out that omicron subvariants may already be in the state and could lead to a rebound in cases in January given the conditions this winter season and the December holidays.
