Those of you who have been following gaming news quite actively in recent weeks probably know the intricacies of Microsoft’s acquisition of multi-billion dollar Activision Blizzard. Fearing that this would end up being the beginning of a monopoly in the gaming industry, several related regulators ended up going through a more thorough investigation process. Sony, as one of those affected, continues to express fears that this deal will cause Call of Duty, one of their top moneymakers, to end up exclusive going forward. This forces Microsoft to issue a new deal officially seeking a 10-year commitment to the FPS franchise.

Microsoft has finally officially announced a 10-year contract offer to Playstation to ensure that every Call of Duty series during that time is released on the same day alongside the Xbox version. They will extend this commitment to other platforms as well. How cool again? Microsoft will make these agreements legally binding, which makes them subject to prosecution in parts of the United States, United Kingdom, and European Union if violated. All to smooth out the acquisition process which is currently still stalled.
