ABU DHABI, 6th December, 2020 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has signed contracts worth over one billion dirhams with four companies in Abu Dhabi to provide catering and hospitality services to all ADNOC group companies during the years 2022 to 2027.
And by redirecting more than 50% of the value of the four contracts to the local economy through the “ADNOC” program to increase value in the country, “ADNOC” confirms its commitment to supporting local businesses and enhancing the growth and diversity of the local sector of the food industry by encouraging the provision of increased purchases of food products among the four companies.
The contracts were signed on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition with the National Corporation for Tourism and Hotels ‘INST&H’, ‘Sedexo Kelvin Hospitality Services’, ‘Apex National Catering’ and ‘Royal Catering Services’.
The contract signing ceremony was attended by His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Chief Executive Officer and CEO of ADNOC and its group of companies, His Excellency Maryam Hareb Al Muhairi, Minister of Change Climate and Environment, and His Excellency Saeed Al Bahri Al Ameri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority.
On this occasion, His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber said, “In line with the leadership’s vision and directives to support the growth of local businesses, we are delighted to sign these contracts which contribute to the growth of the local food sector. industry and to provide high-quality food service to meet the needs of ADNOC’s large and diverse workforce. contractors to support the growth, development and diversification of the local industrial sector.”
He added, “By working with local companies and encouraging the use of more UAE-made products, we aim to support the growth and development of the food industry in the country, which is an important factor in the UAE’s national strategy to food security.”
ADNOC employs a workforce of more than 100 nationalities in its companies, which include 14 companies operating in various fields and stages of the energy sector value chain. ADNOC provides more than 45 million meals each year to meet the nutritional needs of a number of employees and contractors, particularly those working at the company’s remote sea and land sites.
