Apple’s store for original parts and home repair tools is now available in Sweden and seven other European countries.
Swedish Apple customers who feel ready to repair their phones and computers can now buy original parts directly from Apple. The company’s Self-service repair shop it has now been opened up to Sweden and other European countries such as Germany, Spain and Poland.
According to Apple, the store contains more than 200 parts, tools, and repair manuals. Apple believes that the most common repairs on iPhone 12, iPhone 13 and Mac computers equipped with Apple’s own circuitry can now be performed by customers rather than service centers. Provided that experience in this type of repairs is already available.
According to Apple, the tools offered through the store have been adapted to cope with the stresses of high-volume professional repairs. Tools offered through the shop include screen and battery presses, torque screwdrivers, and repair washers.
Those who don’t want to buy the tools to do a single repair here and there can otherwise rent a tool bundle from Apple. Customers have access to the tools for one week with free delivery priced at SEK 699.
The company also continues to increase the number of authorized service points and today there are expected to be over 4,000 independent repairers and over 100,000 active technicians. According to Apple, this means that eight out of ten customers in Europe have less than 30 minutes to reach the nearest authorized service point. Something that can be worth keeping in mind if you don’t feel ready enough to do a repair yourself. Although now it will be much easier with genuine Apple parts and repair manuals.
