Esat Saint-Exupéry, managed by APEIHSAT, welcomes 55 people with disabilities who mainly carry out aeronautical activities. The establishment has managed to create a friendly atmosphere which is illustrated by the creation of the Happy’cap, a sort of afterwork.
After the two months of confinement in 2020, during the development of the establishment project with the people welcomed, the need for a meeting space appeared on several occasions. “The establishment created a working group with 8 people with disabilities to develop a recurring festive event and find the place to organize it. With my colleague Sophie Fontan, in charge of integration, we finally decided to open Happy’cap which is held every first Friday of the month rue des braves in Toulouse. The initiative is unique in France. The choice of time, 14:00 social to attend the place, but it is not a microcosm of disabled people, the place is open to all. Started last September, given its success, the project has already been renewed”, exults Nathalie Rosa, occupational psychologist.
A very busy team
The 8 people involved in the project divided the roles: 2 at the entrances, 2 at the cloakroom, 2 at the bar (drinks and sweets) and 2 DJs. The Happy’cap strengthens the ties and the good understanding that already exists”, explains Johan, order picker who takes care of the receipts. “After a month of work, we can let off steam by dancing or talking” smiles Lionel, DJ-warehouseman “L’Happy’ cap allows us to be together outside of work,” adds Sébastien, a versatile agent who takes care of the changing rooms. The team intends to expand the Happy’cap by inviting other establishments and hopes to make themselves known through their Facebook page.
Esat Saint-Exupéry took advantage of the Afterwork on December 2 to deliver their qualification acquired in VAE to Chahid, Jérémy, Alexandre and Damien. Since the VAE’s inception in 2012, 32 agents have gotten them in CAP or Bac Pro, which is 100% of the agents who showed up.
