The defendant’s son unexpectedly appeared in the room, then Dr. Judge Tibor Bóka announced that É. Due to the death of one of Imre’s family members, the trial was halted, to which both the prosecutor and the lawyer agreed.
The court wanted to hear the woman several times, but due to her deteriorating health, this did not happen. Therefore, the previous testimony of her will be presented.
The defendant learned the bad news from his son on Monday afternoon. The judge expressed his sympathy and then said that since the defendant could not be expected to attend the trial in this frame of mind, he would be adjourned until the end of January. The boy rushed out of the Győr court building with tears in his eyes.
E. Imre is under arrest, but if he applies and the judge gives him permission, he can be pardoned and attend the funeral.
Zoltánné Mácsik reacted to what happened with mixed emotions.
– I never thought that I would ever be happy with such news. But at least he knows what happened to him, I may never know what really happened to my husband and I will never be able to bury him. He can do it too – the wife of the missing electrician from Mosonmagyaróvár told our newspaper.
Physicists and polygraph experts were interviewed in the morning at the trial. This was significant because it was discovered that not just one, but two expert reports were drawn up on the disappearance of M. Zoltán. One is earlier, which É. It provides information on samples taken from Imre’s hand, the second was created after the indictment, in 2021, which examines traces found on the defendant’s clothes. The latter will be explained in more detail at the next hearing, because until now the prosecution, the defense and even the court were unaware of the existence of such an opinion.
Traces of use of weapons
The first physical report was prepared by a specialist who no longer practices his profession. In his place, therefore, two colleagues intervened, who objected to the maximum due to the authenticity of the report. E. They found lighter fluid on Imre’s wrist, which is from a firearm and may have been in the hand of the shooter.
E. Imre constantly claims that the people in black made him kneel, then raised their hand above his head and shot him a meter above his head.
According to the expert, if this were the case, gunpowder residues and not the ignition mixture should have ended up on his hands. The defendant also asked if this concoction could have come from push-ups, matches or lighters. In all cases, the expert’s response was negative.
The polygraph was indicated
The results of the polygraph examination conducted at the time of O. Vilmos’ disappearance were also presented. In essence, it turned out that É. Imre gave a misleading answer to the question of whether he knew anything about the whereabouts of Vilmos O. That is, he lied with his answer of him not. When asked if he had killed him, the plane did not report.
According to the expert who prepared the investigation, the fact that the day before the investigation they conducted a site inspection of the Ikrény farm, where nothing was found, was an influencing factor. Unsuccessful search may have made him hopeful.
