After the success of the first show of Giras Bicentenario 2022 in Pucallpa, the Bicentennial Special Project and the National Cast Directorate of the Ministry of Culture are preparing a special presentation for the upcoming holiday season that will bring together more than one hundred artists on the stage of the National Ballet of the Folklore of Peru, the National Children’s Choir of Peru and the National Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Bicentennial.
Giras Bicentenario will bring the ”Christmas Gala” to the city of Huacho, under the creation and artistic direction of Fabricio Varela Travesí, encompassing the Christmas customs and traditions of the various regions of the country. This show of dance, music and song will be presented on Saturday, December 10 at the Segundo Aranda Torres Municipal Stadium as the closure of the year for tours.
The gala will start at 19.00 and will last approximately 2 hours, but the public will be able to enter the stadium from 17.00. It should be noted that admission is totally free and on a first-come, first-served basis.
Participants will enjoy a varied Christmas repertoire consisting of sixteen songs that combine classic Christmas carols such as ”Noche de Paz” and ”Tamborilero” with other Peruvian themes such as ”Rueda, rueda”, ”Señor San José , carpintero fino”, ”Siwar situy”, ”Noche lima” and some Christmas carols by Chabuca Granda: ”Misterio”, ”Dormía yo” and ”Quietud”.
The Bicentennial Tours are part of the commemoration activities for the 200th anniversary of our independence and will continue to tour the country along with other national casts until 2024, when the bicentennial commemoration period ends.
Through this proposal, the Bicentennial Special Project seeks to bring the work of the National Castes of Peru closer to the different regions of the country, strengthen national identity, diversify the cultural offer and disseminate our cultural heritage, emphasizing the local and regional, through music, song and dance.
