The pilot on board requested an emergency landing after experiencing a problem with the landing gear. The plane “landed” at around 2.40pm and the pilot sustained minor injuries, reportedly NBC-owned news organization WRAL.

As the small twin-engine cargo plane was approaching the airport’s runway, a family in nearby Fuquay-Varina suddenly heard a loud thud.
The next day, the pilot was found in the trees in the back yard. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police confirmed the Facebook that it was the co-pilot of the plane Charles Hew Crooks (23) who was found dead in the garden, without a parachute.
Crooks and the lead pilot were the only passengers aboard the plane when the crash occurred.
