Tehran’s decision to abolish the morality police has received mixed reactions. After the prosecutor, Mohammad Jaafar Montazeri, announced the abolition of the morality police on Saturday evening, according to Iran’s student news agency. His arrest of Mahsa Amini and the death of the young woman three days later launched a wave of demonstrations in the country that have lasted for almost three months.
