The black hole is filmed at the exact moment it devours the star

Inside almost all galaxies there are black holes that are inactive, that is, they consume nothing and therefore do not emit light. However, recently, a Black hole was discovered in the act of devouring a star. He reads on to find out more.

Let’s move on to a slightly more didactic explanation: when a star gets too close to a Black holean intense gravitational force begins to tear it apart, stretching its matter as if it were a line and the star is destroyed.

These events where a star is eaten by black holes are very rare, but when they do happen they are very violent. When this event occurs, it is called a Tide Break Event (TDE).

Generally, these events occur once every ten thousand years in a galaxy typical and its occurrences are very rare.

The team of astronomers had to collect data with 21 different telescopes and compare the information with theoretical models of different types of known extreme events, such as star collapses and kilonova explosions.

However, the only thing that explained the data obtained was a phenomenon called “tidal disruption”, which is when a Black hole devour a star by stretching it like an eraser.

Previously, there have been other Tide Breaking events, the events have been observed before and with no jets pointed in our direction, different than now.

The jets are formed by particles moving at speeds close to that of light, however it has not yet been possible to define the origin of these elements.

They are usually perceived as X-rays or gamma rays, but in particular the jet, which was observed in the research published today, was perceived as an emission of visible light.

Most intriguing of all is that the galaxy from which the jet originated is not yet known, making it difficult to identify the phenomenon, since it was not certain that there was a telling black hole at its core.

Now, the researchers intend to identify where it came from and understand the properties of the black hole that originated this rare phenomenon. They intend to use the telescope James Webb.
