There has been an allegation from a scientist who said COVID-19 was originally man-made until it spread due to a leak in a Wuhan lab. This was conveyed by an epidemiologist and former vice president of the EcoHealth Alliance, Dr. Andrew Huff, in the book “The Truth About Wuhan.”
Dr. Huff believes the COVID-19 pandemic is the result of US government funding for genetic engineering of the dangerous coronavirus in China. However, because the experiments in China were not accompanied by good biosecurity. As a result, a leak occurred in the laboratory of the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which then triggered the outbreak of the Corona virus.
“The EcoHealth Alliance and foreign laboratories lacked adequate control measures to ensure adequate biosafety, biosecurity and risk management, which ultimately led to laboratory leaks at the Wuhan Institute of Virology,” he said in the his book, quoted by News, Monday (5/12/2022).
It is known that the EcoHealth Alliance has been studying various corona viruses in bats for more than ten years funded by the National Institutes of Health and in collaboration with the Wuhan laboratory. Dr. Huff worked at the EcoHealth Alliance from 2014 to 2016 and has been a vice president since 2015, working as a US government scientist.
In 2014, Dr. Huff was asked to review a funding proposal related to functional improvement work to create SARS-CoV-2, which then causes COVID-19. The work aims to examine viruses created to infect humans, to help researchers test scientific theories, develop new technologies and find treatments for infectious diseases.
However, this search method is believed to run the risk of triggering security issues, so it is banned in many countries. It was banned in the United States in 2014, but was reintroduced by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in 2017.
