Neighbors heard a loud bang at the first fire. Outside, they saw flames near the back of a parked car. Firefighters were called and quickly brought the fire under control.
The fire in Van Hogendorpstraat was fought by a local resident. Here, too, the back of a car was on fire. The resident grabbed a powder fire extinguisher and managed to prevent the worst. Firefighters took to the streets to put out the fire just to be safe.
The police are investigating both fires.
