You don’t even want to believe how many irritated reactions the new, at first glance, relaxed Nova TV show “Weekend breakfast” still causes. Although it is hosted by famous actors who invite famous guests, cook and prepare all kinds of delicacies, there are also interesting songs and reports and last but not least an impressive Advent atmosphere, many spectators criticize it indiscriminately.
Even after the “Nováci” made it clear to the television management that they did not want politicians to spoil their weekend, Nova did not listen to their wishes and listed interviews with leading representatives of our political scene. “Damn…. Saturday and Sunday” one of them complains. Petra asks: “And why the leisure breakfast policy? If you’ve already taken away movies and fairy tales from us, I don’t understand why you threw yourself into politics?”
Other viewers are also angry that people are already tired of politics (with which one can only agree): “Why do you keep showing up, we’ve had enough of you” they say, for example, to one of the presidential candidates, trying to win voters in all possible and impossible ways. Most debaters agree with this Facebook opinion of the show “Another reason not to watch it.” “I really don’t want to see him.” “Pity about the electricity.” “No, no, and no.” “Not at all.” “He IS disgusting. I’d rather throw away the TV” they prevail over each other in the discussion. Vulgar and hateful reactions are no exception, some of which exceed the limits of the law.
It’s not worth it
Viewers of “Breakfast” are already so pissed off that they aren’t even happy about the chance to win one of the phone contest’s “valuable prizes.” “It will not be possible to appeal again. You should think of something else” for example, Irena complains. Jana even thinks that the winners are known in advance, and Naďa also came to the opinion that Nova TV is not worth calling.
In any case, it is evident that a similar disgust for politicians and for the current situation in our country does not concern only the audience of Nova TV, but also of other broadcasters. Czech public television viewers also express their frustration and even discuss a pre-Christmas fundraiser for poor children, called “Shoe Boxes”. For example, they reflect on the fact that after more than thirty years of democracy and prosperity, there are so many poverty-stricken children in our country. And they connect to presidential candidates similar to a private station.
