A FedEx driver allegedly abducted a 7-year-old girl from her Texas home earlier this week before killing her, police said.
The chilling crime was revealed when police said they had found the body of Athena Strand, who was reported missing after she was not found in her bedroom on Wednesday.
Police believe FedEx driver Tanner Lynn Horner delivered a package to her home at the time of the disappearance, CBS reported.
Horner, 31, confessed to abducting the young woman from her home in Paradise, about 40 miles northwest of Fort Worth. He was charged with capital murder and aggravated kidnapping.
“We knew from the beginning of the investigation that a FedEx driver had made a delivery in front of the house at the same time that 7-year-old Athena went missing,” Wise County Sheriff Lane Akin said at a news conference Friday. night.
