US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin Proudly says the new B-21 bomber is a significant advance over bombers currently in the US Air Force fleet, the most complex to detect B-21 bomber.
“50 years of advances in stealth technology have gone into this aircraft,” says Lloyd Austin.
The first bombers are expected to be put into service with the US Air Force next year by 2023, with six aircraft currently under construction, according to the BBC report. It plans to order at least 100 B-21 stealth bombers to replace the B-1 and B-2 bombers.
