It was found that 44 of the 50 states in the country belong to the group at risk of spreading influenza.
Normally, the real flu season starts around December or January, but this year’s season started a little earlier.
Furthermore, this year’s flu season overlaps with the spread of corona and RSV viruses and worries about a “triple demic” are becoming a reality.
In the midst of this, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that the flu virus risk in 44 states was very high or very high as of last week.
Experts explained that the virus has spread greatly through transportation hubs such as airports and Thanksgiving holiday gatherings earlier.
According to the CDC, there have so far been at least 78,000 hospitalizations and 4,500 deaths, 14 of them children.
The CDC advised, “For influenza prevention, influenza vaccination is recommended for all residents except infants less than 6 months of age.”
