It is a recruitment that can intrigue. This Wednesday November 30th New York City Hall has posted a job offer to recruit a “bloodthirsty” chef that he will have to take care of the “slaughter” of millions of rats. A real plague for the city, the presence of very many rodents on the streets of the town has become a very important battle for Mayor Éric Adams: “There is NOTHING I hate as much as rats“, he assured in a post Chirping which promoted this rather atypical work.
The ad, posted by the elected African-American, details a position as “director of the program to reduce the number of rodents“, which requires constant attention: “we will have to dedicate ourselves 24/7 with tenacity and sense of staging”. The profile of the ideal candidate is all indicated, “he must be ultra-motivated, sufficiently bloodthirstydetermined to look at all solutions from various angles”. He must also have “a virulent aversion to parasites” and “fame of ringworm”, as well as a first experience of urban planning.
To become the megacity’s No. 1 pest control company, the ad promises a salary of $120,000 to $170,000 per year.
