There is a signal that Balkan Stream is part of Putin’s strategic plan to bypass Ukraine. This was confirmed by Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev during the control blitz in parliament.
He was asked by DB co-chairman and deputy head of parliament Atanas Atanasov about a facsimile published in the media of a weekly report by DANS years ago, before the construction of the Balkan Stream started, which stressed that “even in at that moment the Bulgarian services warned the then prime minister that the construction of the Balkan Stream was part of Putin’s strategic plan to bypass Ukraine”.

The prosecutor’s office immediately denounced itself and began to check where this information leaked from, which means that this is a real case, Atanasov explained. These data indicate that a crime has been committed against the Bulgarian side, he added.
