According to him, Washington has turned Kiev into a real threat to Moscow, an action that cannot be ignored.
The top Russian diplomat, speaking on Thursday during his annual press conference in Moscow, also accused the US and NATO of trying to escalate tensions in the South China Sea and of trying to subvert regional bodies intended to promote dialogue, such as the OSCE in Europe and ASEAN in Asia.
He defended the Russian military which carried out air strikes, including with drones and missiles to destroy Ukraine’s infrastructure. Kiev and the West called it a war crime.

“We have disabled the energy facilities (in Ukraine) that allow you (Westerners) to pump lethal weapons into Ukraine to kill Russia,” Lavrov said.
“So don’t say that the United States and NATO are not participating in this war – you are participating directly. Including not only with the supply of weapons, but also with personnel training – you are training the (Ukrainian) army on your territory “, he would say again. ReutersFriday (2/12/2022).
Western countries are known to have armed and trained Kiev’s troops to help it recapture its Russian-occupied lands.
Russia, which dominated Ukraine before the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, has described its intervention in the neighboring country as a “special military operation” to keep Moscow safe.
Lavrov delivered his anti-Western tirade as the Russian invasion of Ukraine entered its 10th month as fighting raged in the east. Meanwhile, officials in parts of Ukraine are still struggling to restore the power cut by the massive Russian offensive.
