LONGUEUIL, Que. – A Longueuil resident was arrested on Thursday in connection with a November 7 murder.
The investigation by the Longueuil agglomeration police department (SPAL) tends to show that the 41-year-old victim was taken to the Charles-Le Moyne hospital by the suspect in question on 7 November.
The 36-year-old man, known to the carabinieri, was arrested at his home around dinner time. He was due to appear in the Longueuil court to face charges of premeditated murder.
“They were two people who knew each other and the origin of the murder would be a dispute”, SPAL specifies in a statement.
“The murder took place in a residence in Longueuil, on the Terrasse Simard in the commune of Saint-Hubert,” the document specifies.
“SPAL investigators were able to establish that the man who transported the victim to hospital, and who was considered an important witness in this case, was in fact the alleged perpetrator of the crime.”
The victim, Luc Domingue, died of his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The suspect’s history includes violence, burglary and theft.
