Nintendo apologizes for problems in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet – Gaming – News

while Scarlet/Violet seems to run more at 20FPS in the open world

According to Digital Foundry you’re not even that far away.

Sword & Shield also had issues, but mostly in the Wild Area and less than in current games (even Arceus runs better than current games)

Also, the load times and graphics (the latter especially outside the Wild Area) were fine, plus the frame rate wasn’t too bad.

But the fact is that only Let’s Go games and D&P remakes have no major problems on Switch, followed by S&S (because Wild Area) and Arceus (because open world)

But even if Arceus is at the bottom, the difference in graphics and performance is absurdly large between that game and the new S&V games.

For me the misery really started from Switch with Pokémon, Sun and Moon (+Ultra variants) were still pretty ok, better than what Switch has but worse than X&Y and ORAS remakes before it.

I don’t count the double and triple battle issues in 3ds games, which were consistent across all Pokémon games on that system

Black(2)&White(2) were the best looking of that generation, X&Y showed a lot of improvement because 3DS had more processing power and ORAS only optimized it slightly.

Sun&Moon has gone too far.

I also prefer Gamefreak to at least go back to how S&S was on Switch, not all games have to be open world per se and we don’t need a gimmick with every new game (except Mega Pokémon, later gimmicks were just useless and got in the way anymore what else)

But it won’t happen, this is the path they (unfortunately) want to take.
