Are there any restrictions on the sale of expired goods?
Goods after the minimum shelf life can be sold. It should be clearly marked. These are mainly dry foods, such as pasta. Nothing happens if three months, half a year have “gone by”. Manufacturers have large reserves. Of course, a lot also depends on the storage method. The expiration of the recommended period of consumption means that the manufacturer no longer guarantees one hundred percent of the product properties, for example, the coffee aroma of six months.
I like a ten percent discount or better yet a quarter of the original price. With what discount do you buy and how big a discount is then reflected in the consumer, if the goods still pass from you to the self-service or e-shop, the so-called discount?
While you, as a consumer, can buy in a regular chain at a discount of 15 to 25% from the price in the order of unit pieces and these are goods with a longer minimum use-by date, we buy in larger volumes goods with a short or expired minimum shelf life.
And this is a big difference. These are very quick warehouse sales and we assume the other associated costs and risks, including the investment of substantial funds.
The purchase price must therefore be adjusted so that the goods reach the end consumer as quickly as possible at an attractive price, even for half or less.

Economic
We offer wholesale goods on our Expira.cz marketplace, keep stock to a minimum and often run out on the day the offer is posted.
In the Czech Republic, we supply three dozen trading companies offering fast-moving sales products to end consumers in a total of approximately one hundred and fifty outlets.
For example, these are physical stores Bertka, Cheapest food EU, Food in action or Maxi Market. These are in Frýdek-Místek, Ostrava, Karviná, Nové Jičín, where there is a great demand for discounted products.
From e-shops, it is for example Klaudashop.cz or Levnoshop.cz.
How much has the demand for sale items increased?
Vend-only stores report sales up by up to 20 percent. Especially in the last few weeks. Along with pharmaceuticals, medical supplies and pharmacies, it is another retail segment where turnover is higher. Otherwise, the turnover of the shops decreases.
However, it must be added that here too the average expenditure per customer is lower than before and consumption has largely been divided into superfluous and necessary goods.
In wholesaling it is common knowledge that even the largest merchants need to clear their warehouses quickly and balance their cash flow or optimize their inventory. Today we collaborate with companies that two years ago would not have needed it.
What kind of goods is it?
Paradoxically, even the best products enter the discount network at the same time, because there is no longer such an interest in premium chocolates at normal prices. Branded confections, cheeses and drugstores are brought here from abroad with these discounts, which in their basic price belong to the most expensive category, but their sale at the regular price is difficult, so they are more likely to be discounted.
You can often buy goods there that you can’t find anywhere else. We don’t even need to talk about reducing food waste.
