LG and MSI unveil gamer monitors with one-of-a-kind features

LG has unveiled what it said was the world’s first 45-inch curved OLED screen clocked at 240Hz in a bid to appeal to gaming enthusiasts.

The South Korean company said it will open the door to initial request for the screen on Dec. 12 and start selling and shipping it to customers starting Dec. 28.

The new 45-inch UltraGear screen comes from LG, measuring 44.75 inches, with a curvature of 800R and a viewing angle of 178 degrees from right to left and 178 degrees from top to bottom.

As far as color and accuracy are concerned, the screen has the advantage of covering 98.5 percent of the DCI-P3 color spectrum, which means it supports 1.07 billion colors and comes with a resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels with a length to -width ratio of 21:9. The screen features two HDMI ports, a headphone port, two USB 3.0 ports, and a DisplayPort port.

The new LG monitor supports many image technologies, such as: NVIDIA G-Sync, AMD FreeSync Premium, Black Stabilizer, Dynamic Action Sync, Crosshair and Smart Energy Saving.

The screen also supports Reader mode, PIP picture-in-picture technology, and the screen also supports HDR10 technology, among other technologies.

That, and LG intends to launch its first 45-inch 240Hz curved OLED screen in the world priced at $1699.99 USD.
