Winter virus, stay alert

The Regional Health Agency (ARS) recalls that “the circulation of winter viruses began at the beginning of this year, with Normandy having entered the pre-epidemic phase for influenza since last week. Even the Covid- 19 is still present, with an incidence rate of 293 cases per 100,000 population in Normandy on 25 November.

Vaccination remains one of the most effective weapons of protection against these viruses. However, at this stage, a decline in the use of the seasonal flu vaccination can be seen compared to the 2021-2022 campaign (-13% in Normandy).

For the most fragile people, vaccination against the flu and against Covid-19 is recommended

It is entirely possible to receive both vaccinations on the same day. If the person chooses to space out the vaccinations, it is recommended that both vaccines be received in a relatively short period of time and as soon as possible.

We respect barrier gestures

Let’s keep the good reflexes acquired during the crisis by ventilating regularly, washing our hands often, using hydroalcoholic gel: barrier gestures allow us to limit the circulation of winter viruses.

Wearing a mask is highly recommended and necessary in situations of great promiscuity, in closed and poorly ventilated places, such as public transport, and in particular in the presence of fragile people. It is also recommended for the most vulnerable people.

In case of doubt, or in case of symptoms, let’s test ourselves and isolate ourselves immediately if the test is positive”.
