NEW YORK – Authorities have arrested a suspect in the stabbing of a pregnant woman inside a New Rochelle residence, New Rochelle police announced Wednesday.
According to the authorities’ report, 19-year-old Naisanagelly Sánchez was charged with second-degree assault.
The police report indicated that on Nov. 29, at approximately 4:00 p.m., the uniformed woman responded to a call about a fight that ended in a stabbing at a house located in Lafayette Ave in the area of West End of New Rochelle.
Officers arrived at the scene and found a pregnant woman with two small stab wounds in the abdomen, police said.
The suspect, a woman known to the victim, had already fled the scene. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment and was released shortly after, authorities added.
The case is under investigation.
