James McAvoy and his problem with the “X-Men” movies.

    VER ‘X-MEN’

James McAvoy has revealed his biggest problem with the ‘X-Men’ franchise, complaining that the sequels don’t ‘play up’ a key relationship.

The actor, who played Charles Xavier in four films of the saga between 2011 and 2019, thinks that his history with Michael Fassbender’s Magneto has not fully developed after ‘First Generation’.

My biggest criticism of what we’ve done over the course of four movies is that, after the first movie, we didn’t take advantage of the relationship between Xavier and Magneto.”, commented a GQ. “That was a mainstay of the first film. [‘Primera Generación’]so I thought: ‘Why did we demolish that huge weapon?‘”

Despite having (apparently) finished playing Professor X, the actor has positive memories of his experience in the superhero film genre.

It was one of the most positive experiences I’ve ever had with a studio,” he confessed. “I don’t see them as just a money machine. ‘Days of Future Past’ I think was one of the best movies I’ve ever been involved in.

In March 2019, Marvel retook the rights to the ‘X-Men’ franchise (after being acquired by Disney), with 20th Century Fox’s latest releases ‘Dark Phoenix’ and ‘The New Mutants’.

Since then, news of a new MCU ‘X-Men’ movie has been making the rounds, but Hugh Jackman recently confirmed that he’ll be back as Wolverine for ‘Deadpool 3.’

He expressed interest in returning and then it was me who once again told Kevin Feige and sold it to him, said ‘Deadpool’ actor Ryan Reynolds of Jackman’s return. And it’s not that including Hugh Jackman in a film like this is complicated. It is an immediate and resounding yes.

I always wanted Hugh to come back. My first meeting with Kevin Feige (when Disney bought FOX years ago) was about making a movie with the two of them. A movie about Deadpool and Wolverine,” added the actor.
