20 years in darkness: what is the fate of the missing Desislava Sevdalinova – Criminal

Desislava Sevdalinova from Vidin has been missing for 20 years and 4 months. There is a case, but there is no result. It is unclear whether the girl was killed or kidnapped as a sex slave, BTV reports.

July 22, 2002 was the last day anyone saw 17-year-old Desislava Sevdalinova from Vidin.

“Then the baby disappeared. He just disappeared,” says Desi’s mother, Angela Marinova.

At that time mother Angela worked in Germany and Desi lived with his uncle and grandmother. He studies in Vidin, dreams of higher education and plans a trip to Germany to meet his mother. Just before that, Desi disappears without a trace.

“I have a message that I have shown several times on the phone. In it he tells me that he met the bus driver he was supposed to travel with and he said that my nephew will also join the trip,” said Desi’s mother.

At that time Desi had a friend – Bozhidar Pekov – son of former Vidin judge Mira Pekova. After his disappearance, it was with him that Desi’s phone and her mother’s gold ornaments were found. According to the evidence, she was the last person to see the girl. And she becomes the prime suspect.

“During the search, some euros were also found. I think this is the child’s money that I had sent on the street,” said Angela.

In the first hours after the disappearance there were no searches. The next day, police began searching for the girl and charges were filed seven years later. Bozhidar Pekov is accused of the kidnapping and his mother Mira Pekova is accused of perjury.

“Now we are at the stage where the case has been renewed for the umpteenth time. Thank you Geshev. He knows the case. Work is underway, but it’s been a year and a half,” Angela said.

He explained that there is no information as to whether there is any new data on the case.

“I know Pekov has his own business. He was said to be in Spain. He was in prison there,” Desi’s mother added.

According to her, her daughter was taken that evening to “Vrashka Chuka”. According to the words, there is information that Petkov was at the border crossing.

And so for two decades a mother lives on dreams and expectations.

Still no results from the search for the two fishermen from Burgas

“I imagine how grown up she is now. I imagine maybe she has a family. The thought of holding her gives me strength. I know Desi will be back. I believe it. I feel it and I know there is justice in one form or another.” Angela said.

“When I left for Germany, she hugged me. And I cried. She watched from the terrace. Come on mom, come on, why are you crying now? It will take a while longer and we’ll see each other and I’ll come to you And she hugged me hugged tightly “Well, I cried at Vrushka Chuka, I couldn’t stop the hiccups,” she added.

“Perhaps, like now, I’m instinctively calm that the day will come when I’ll hug her again,” said Angela.

Until then, even if the archives have cooled and the traces have disappeared, a mother of Vidin will pray morning and evening and wait.

“I will always look for an answer for her. I will always look for an answer because that answer was never given to me. I would tell Desi that I love her, even though she knows it and that I am waiting for her. As much as I need,” she added Angela.

Because hope is stronger than anything.
