The Municipality of León improves the signage of the Camino de Santiago and the Camino de San Salvador in the Plaza de San Marcos
The City Council of León, through the Department of Urban Development chaired by Luis Miguel García Copete, installed a sign this morning in the Plaza de San Marcos indicating the two branches of the Jacobean Way, on one side the Camino de Santiago and, on the another, the Camino de San Salvador, an alternative route that starts from the Camino de Santiago that joins the cathedrals of León and Oviedo. An initiative that was carried out at the request of the Association of Friends of the Way of Santiago de León ‘Pulchra Leonina’.
García Copete explained that this indication will serve to avoid confusion among pilgrims who make one of these two routes. “It was decided to install this sign that correctly indicates the two routes, taking into account the suggestions of the Association of Friends of the Camino de Santiago de León, whom we sincerely thank for their constant involvement in contributing ideas to improve the Camino by passing through León”, added the commissioner to statements collected in a statement.
