Oslo gets a highway that the city council doesn’t want

Oslo’s transport council is disappointed that the government is “showcasing” another highway project.

Loop 1 enters the tunnel under the government quarter.

SV leader Audun Lysbakken says he has attempted budget negotiations but that the ruling parties have not listened to him.

What he tried to do was put an end to plans for a new tunnel during the new government term. This project is estimated to cost NOK 3.1 billion. It is also one of the very few major road projects that the host municipality opposes.
