Time to return to the Fiat house with the announcement of the arrival in the first months of 2023 of one of the best-selling cars of the last twenty years. Over time, Fiat has already accustomed us to being ready for real revolutions of its historic models and this time too we could find ourselves faced with a new design to be discovered for the new Punto…
Our streets are full of these historic Fiat models. Its production begins with the 1993 model which effectively marks the beginning of the Punto family. The ’93 car will then be updated first in 1999 and subsequently in 2012. With the latter model which will be declined in 3 other different models: the launch one or the Grande Punto, the Punto Evo which, as can be understood from the name, represented a evolution of the first and last model of the family which is the Punto 2012.
The car was designed to be adaptable to any situation. So it could easily adapt to any type of motorist, from those who needed enough space for the whole family to those who needed a perfect car to carry out their work duties instead.
The latest model of the Punto was produced until 2018 in India, when Fiat definitively decided to suspend its production to probably switch to something different. In fact, however, to date the much loved Punto still remains without a successor, but the moment we have been waiting for may have finally arrived.
The great return of the Punto
That’s right, it seems that in recent months increasingly reliable rumors have been circulating for what could be a central model in the catalog offered by FIAT for the next few years. To date, in fact, we have come into possession of some renders that could represent the final design of the new Punto and they are really fantastic, let’s see them together…
In addition to the design, however, we know that the new point will be built from a common Stellantis platform with CMP architecture, already used in various models of different brands such as the Peugeot 208 and 2008 and the Opel Corsa and Mokka.
We also know that the new model will arrive immediately with a Hybrid engine and we will see the first full Electric model arrive later in 2024 as evidence of the green breakthrough of the whole group.
In the different renderings that we have available, we immediately notice a detail. The design of the new Fiat model will deviate significantly from the gentle round shapes typical of the previous Punto models, to make room for more sporty and aerodynamic lines.
