The goal of the new top duo is the introduction and implementation of the strategy that has been developed with the existing and new members of the Board of Trustees as well as the direction for the coming years.
Meaningful jobs
Markus Joos, a lawyer from Herisau, has been at the forefront of forming the Tosam Foundation for 20 years. Joos cites the continuation of the company in the spirit of founder Martin Grob, who set up the foundation in 1989 and retired in 2018, as the biggest and most important task during his tenure. There have been many changes, but one thing has remained constant, Joos knows: “The companies of the Tosam Foundation offer employees meaningful jobs and value-added products and services for customers. That was our central task then, it is now and it will be in the future as well”.
Markus Joos has now decided to step down as president of the Tosam Foundation. The launch of the new strategy is a good moment: “I am happy that we can find a successor to the internal Executive Committee. With the co-chairmanship we are very well positioned for the future”. The legal department has been filled with a new member of the Board of Trustees Daniel Schneider.
“Minister of the Interior” and “Minister of Foreign Affairs”
Robin Marke, entrepreneur and strategy consultant from Herisau, has been responsible for organizational development on the Board of Trustees since 2019. As part of the co-chairmanship, he will mainly focus on internal organizational issues: “After a phase of stabilization and consolidation, the Tosam Foundation will continue to develop. With Strategy 2026, the route has been traced so that the Tosam Foundation can offer sustainable added value for the people of the foundation and for society”.
Sabrina Huber, Teufen’s marketing and communications expert, will represent the organization externally. Since 2020, she has held the Communications department on the Board of Trustees and is looking forward to her new role: “The Tosam Foundation has renewed and consolidated its image of her. This has given internal and external impetus to address and implement the new strategy.
In addition to the co-chairman, the seven-person board of trustees consists of Ralf Zeller, Gossau (infrastructure department), Sonja Tobler, Hundwil (social affairs department), Monika Freund, Bühler (finance department), Michael Federer, Speicher ( Human Resources Department) and Daniel Schneider, St. Gallen (Legal Department).
Central elements of the strategy
The strategy for 2020-2022 focused on financial and organizational stabilization of the organization and further development of assistance offerings. Some businesses have been sold, discontinued or relocated in recent years. Hof Baldenwil in Schachen near Herisau has also received a new order: the offer of stationary accommodation will be discontinued at the end of 2022, supervised workplaces will remain in place, the accommodation offer will be geared towards supported holiday guests. Organizational development and financial stability are also an integral part of the new strategic period. A second goal is the further professionalization in the area of agogics, especially in professional measures. In addition, the most popular products and services, including WinWin markets and horticulture, are further developed conceptually. Working and creating at the Tosam Foundation is always oriented towards the two fundamental values of “appreciating” and “adding value”.
