The original news: The judges of the Bucharest Court of Appeal will decide on Monday at 12.00 on the preventive arrest request filed by the DNA in the case of Niculae Bădălău, according to G4Media sources.

Former PSD Baron Niculae Bădălău, detained by DNA on Sunday evening in a corruption case, refused to make statements to prosecutors, judicial sources told G4Media.

According to the sources cited, prosecutors have video recordings of all of Badălău’s discussions with his informant, Mayor Dan Pasat.

Bădălău, current vice-president of the Court of Auditors, was arrested on Sunday evening, after being questioned by DNA in a corruption case. Prosecutors are investigating corruption and influence trading.

In the case, prosecutors are investigating alleged lobbying for companies owned by his children.

In the same file, a natural person, a representative of a commercial company, was detained for having committed the crime of complicity in corruption, according to DNA. Judicial sources specify for G4Media that it is Elena Matache and the company in question is Samby Intex SRL, the company of her son-in-law.
