Positive trend for EHC
It’s still a weak trend at EHC Freiburg, but coach Robert Hoffmann hopes “it’s the first fruit” and that the training work in the backcourt solidifies into lasting stability. While the second-division ice hockey club’s average of goals conceded before the international break was 3.6 goals per game, it’s been just 1.5 in four games since then. “My players are faster and closer to the opponent,” says Hoffmann. And “their heads are turning more”, he stressed that the Freiburgers now pay more attention to what is happening behind them. After the 5:2 victory in Ravensburg on Sunday and before the game this Tuesday in Krefeld (19:30, live on the Internet at SpradeTV), a relaxed training program for the tenth EHC squad was planned on Monday. With DEL relegated to third place, Hoffmann has the 16 players from Ravensburg’s game at his disposal, provided no one is absent at short notice. DEL promotion license defender Kai Zernikel (Schwenningen) can supplement the EHC squad.
