A member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc, MP Hassan Ezz El-Din, confirmed during a commemorative ceremony held in the hussainiya in the southern city of Batouleh, that “until now there has been no understanding between most of the political forces on the name of the president of the republic, and therefore when we chose to vote with the white paper, this means that we are fully aware of the reality of this country and of the nature of its composition, both at a social and political level, and it means that it is an explicit invitation to maintain a glimmer of dialogue, understanding and convergence between the political forces and the components of the Lebanese Parliament, and not to close the door to the confrontation on the outcomes that lead to the election of a president for the republic.
Ezz El-Din stressed: “The need for the President of the Republic to have a number of characteristics, namely that he is patriotic, courageous, possesses his independent national decision and stands firm in the face of any internal or external pressure to impose dictates and conditions against the supreme interests of the Lebanese and citizens”.
He said: “The president must put the nation’s priorities before the citizens over his own interests, work to build the state and institutions, bring Lebanese together, help find solutions to the economic, financial and monetary crises, and so on, and to master the art of benefiting from the skill and strength of resistance, and to employ it to achieve sovereignty and preserve the country’s independence.” and get him out of his troubles.
